On the last day of 2016 we visited the "Pura Vida Gardens" up in the mountains near Bijagual.
Costa Rica views are blue and green.
And from a high perch you can really appreciate the canopy of the dense jungle.
Soaring Black Vultures were up among the clouds ...
... and voracious caterpillars (of the Costa Rican Sphinx moth) were down among the plants.
We spent almost five hours among Fiery-billed Aracaris,
Spiny-tailed Iguanas,
Green-crowned Hummingbirds,
and Red Gingers; just to mention a very few of the exotic species that we loved to familiarize ourselves with.
As the daylight dwindled towards the last evening of the year, we were again sitting on the porch, watching and listening to the Mesoamerican nature in all its glory.
