Agen

Heading from home to Agen today took us through Paris and then to Bordeaux where we caught a TGV (Train à Grande Vitesse) to Agen, the undisputed capital of prunes :-).

We got installed in our humble Stim'Otel hotel
and after a while we felt stim'olated to take a long walk in the old part of prune city.

The main street is this Boulevard. The French president Marie François Sadi Carnot was stabbed to death by an Italian anarchist, Sante Geronimo Caserio. For that assassination the anarchist was guillotined 3 years lated; – and the embalmed head of Caserio is now in the possession of Jean-Marie Le Pen, the founder of Front National (!)

Well, we did not see any prunes but found some interesting stuff anyway.
Some houses were unfortunate enough to be squeezed between two streets and must be a bit awkward to live in.
At the square in front of the cathedral a tiny library sported "books for the traveller"; borrow one, read one, leave one. A great idea.

Behind the cathedral there was no P anywhere in Love Street (Rue d'Amour)!
We will meet our bikes tomorrow morning and together we should end up (by late afternoon) on the banks of the Lot river some 50 km northeast of here.
