Skagen

Most of our day was spent in the northernmost town in Denmark.
Skagen was its usual self with a brisk westerly, drifting clouds on a bright blue sky, a beautiful light, and a lively harbour with noisy gulls.
The main goal for the visit was to explore Skagen Museum.
We did so thoroughly for some hours. Here's one of P.S. Krøyer's masterpieces being scrutinized.
Laurits Tuxen, 1909: The North Sea in stormy weather. After sunset.
Laurits Tuxen, 1917: Rhododendron in Tuxen's garden, Skagen.
Michael Ancher, 1880: Will he round the point?
P.S. Krøyer, 1883: Summer evening on Skagen's south beach. Anna Ancher and Marie Krøyer.
After being in the good company of these overwhelmingly beautiful masterpieces – and many more –
... we saluted the masters and replenished our resources in the nearby café and then headed home again.
The neighbouring North Sea was still roaring but we hope for less wind tomorrow Sunday, when we will continue our bike trip southwards.
